Chapter One
Forged in History
Hearth-Fire Forge isn't just a workshop; it's the culmination of a lifelong obsession with the tools that shaped our world. Founded by Mason Becker, the journey began not with a hammer, but with a book. From a young age, Mason was captivated by the development of global technology and ancient weaponry. This passion eventually led him to the New South Wales historical reenactment community, where, at just sixteen years old, he became deeply immersed in the rugged, storied culture of the Anglo-Saxons.

From Envy to Artistry
As a young reenactor, Mason walked the market stalls of historical festivals, admiring the high-quality kits and blades he couldn't yet afford. Rather than waiting for a turn of fortune, he looked to the past for a solution. Using findings from archaeological digs as his blueprint, Mason taught himself to forge—reviving ancient techniques to create the gear he once only dreamed of owning.

What started as a personal quest for authentic gear soon turned into a reputation for excellence. Mason became a fixture in the community, known for knives that weren't just sharp, but historically impeccable. Every blade sold was a step toward a better anvil, a hotter forge, and a more refined craft.
Chapter Two
A Fading EmberAndA NEW SPARK
The life of a bladesmith is physically unforgiving, and tragedy struck when a severe workplace accident left Mason with a damaged back. Despite pushing through the chronic pain for years, the physical toll became too great. Mason made the heavy decision to put the hammer down. Resigning himself to a standard retail job, he became an unappreciated cog in a broken machine, packing up his dreams of full-time knife making.
The forge grew cold
Then, in December 2018, everything changed.
Mason received the news that he was going to be a father.Seeing that first ultrasound
—that little jellybean on the screen—stoked the dwindling coals of his ambition. That tiny spark of new life set his dedication roaring back into a fiery blaze.Hearth-Fire Forgewas Reborn
Still managing chronic pain and physical limitations, Mason adapted. He focused fiercely on what he could do. Reaching out to other skilled Australian blacksmiths, he began purchasing raw steel, bringing it back to his own workshop to meticulously handle the heat-treating, shaping, and finishing. It was a new way of forging, driven by the uncompromising need to build a legacy for his growing family.

Chapter Three
The Hearth Today
Today, Hearth-Fire Forge is a true family endeavour, sustaining Mason, his daughter, his partner Kaya, and a lively household of two dogs, a horse, and a herd of guinea pigs.
Our work draws inspiration from around the globe but remains deeply rooted in locally sourced, environmentally sustainable materials wherever possible.
The forge is now a collaborative space. Alongside Mason's blades, we proudly sell handmade goods created by K, while she battles an invisible genetic chronic illness that prevents her from working a traditional job, her creativity and resilience are woven into the very fabric of the business.
Through relentless hard work and one primary income, we've kept our dreams and our lifestyle afloat.
Community remains at the heart of what we do. Like Steel, our family at Hearth-Fire Forge, know what it means to be hardened by adversity.
That is why we believe in lifting up our local makers.
At our market stalls, we dedicate shelf space to showcase the work of various other artists who don't have the means to be full-time sellers.
