Specialising in rustic, handmade knives for all purposes, every piece is crafted by hand using traditional techniques and quality materials. Our story
The Hearth-Fire Forge Journey
The journey started in the backyard at 16, messing around with scrap timber and steel. Like many teenagers, there was a fascination with ancient and medieval weapons — but without the means to buy them, the only option was to learn how to make them. Over time, that early interest evolved into an appreciation for the design, function, and durability of quality tools and blades.
Entirely self-taught over the last 18 years, the forge was built through trial and error, using salvaged materials and whatever tools could be found or repurposed. Hearth-Fire Forge wasn’t born from business ambition — it was built from passion, persistence, and a love for the craft.
It also grew from community. Involvement in the Australian re-enactment scene led to connections with other makers and artisans, sparking collaborations that continue today. That shared spirit of creativity and craftsmanship is still at the heart of everything we do.
